Fishing on the River Windrush

The River Windrush is a beautiful chalk bed river, forming in the Gloucestershire hills northeast of Taddington before winding its way through the Cotswolds.

Flowing for over forty miles through Bourton-in-theWater and the village of Windrush before reaching Oxfordshire, meandering through the bustling market towns of Burford and Witney (home of the famous Witney blanket) before meeting the River Thames at Newbridge.

The Old Swan & Minister Mill are set on the banks of the river at Old Minster with over 65 acres of magical gardens, wild flower meadows and over a mile of managed river on both banks.

Fishing on the Windrush is exceptionally good whatever your quarry or preferred method of angling. Fishing on the Windrush in the Cotswolds is one of life’s passions as well as an art!
